Wow. 1 year.
I can’t believe how quickly the year has already flown by at TuckShop Kitchen, and now we’re about to celebrate our 1st birthday. It feels like yesterday when we were pitching city hall at a committee of adjustment hearing among big wig developers and angry residents raging against their building plans. Luckily for us, only heroes live in the Junction Triangle since we only received overwhelming support and love from the local community, signing petitions and promoting us on the Junction Triangle facebook page. Who can also forget the 8+ months of construction needed to convert a vacant garage and basement into a takeout restaurant and convenience store.

The gloves came off Monday night.
The team was invited to participate in a Breakfast Sandwich Battle on Monday, February 29 at the Drake Hotel. The jam-packed event was part of The 86’D, a weekly industry event at the Drake hosted by the awesome Ivy Knight from Swallow Daily. Led by our kitchen captain and Chef Jake Taylor, we competed against Chefs Matt Cowan of Portland Variety, Alex Tso of Dundas Park Kitchen, Aidan Galligan of Uncle Smoke, and Tara Lee of Barhop, who all came to battle it out for the title of best breakfast sandwich! We are honored to host FreshBooks’ Blind Dates, which was profiled on CBS Morning today! FreshBooks has been organizing blind dates with its employees, not for romance, but to connect employees who may not know each other. Some of their blind dates take place at our shop, so we were happy to offer up our space for FreshBooks again when CBS This Morning wanted to profile them about this awesome initiative.
Our hats off to FreshBooks, the brave Marcus and Shannon for going on the “date”. Hopefully our food helped break the ice! 🙂

Let us make Lasagna for you tonight!
We’re excited to announce Take Home Lasagna Dinner at TuckShop Kitchen. This killer dinner will feed 2-3 people), and only available after 4:00 pm.
Our lasagna dinner includes our house made Caesar Salad and Garlic Bread, and will feed 2-3 people. All this for just $28 (That’s $9-14 pp for dinner). Order just the lasagna for $21.
At TuckShop, we want to be as inclusive as possible so that everyone can enjoy our dinner, so we’ve have a Meat, Vegetarian, Vegan/Dairy Free and Gluten Free lasagna to choose from!
Call us at least 45 minutes ahead to allow us to prepare your dinner. We’d love to hear you feedback, so let us know what you think!
